Contest Rules
The following are the Official Rules for KKGO-FM's The Thousand Dollar Minute Contest (the "Contest"). This Contest will be conducted by radio station KKGO-FM, GO Country 105 ("the Station"), which is owned and operated by Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters, Inc. ("Mount Wilson"). References to actions being taken by the Station in these rules shall include actions taken by Mount Wilson and its employees and agents.

1. ENTRY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Entries for this Contest are submitted by calling the telephone number announced at the commencement of each occurrence of the Contest. By calling the telephone number announced, participants will be deemed to have consented to participation in the Contest and to have agreed to abide by these Official Rules of the Contest. No purchase is necessary to enter or win a prize. A purchase will not improve chances of winning.

2. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal U.S. residents of the Los Angeles, California, listening area as defined by Nielsen Audio and who are age 18 or older. Any individual that has won a prize in any contest conducted by the Station in the thirty (30) days preceding the commencement of the Contest Period is not eligible. Participants must have a valid California ID and U.S. Social Security Number as of the date and time of entering the Contest. Void where prohibited. Employees of Mount Wilson, its affiliates, its representatives, the contest's participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, employees of any other broadcast company serving Southern California, and members of the immediate families of such persons and any individuals who have been employed by Mount Wilson in the sixty (60) calendar day period immediately preceding the commencement of the Contest Period are ineligible to participate or win. The term "immediate family" includes spouses, domestic partners, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws," or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.

3. WINNER SELECTION: Individual occurrences of the Contest may be run by the Station at times of its selection, starting weekdays on or about 7:00 a.m. beginning Monday, May 5, 2025 and ending May 30, 2025 (the "Contest Period"). The Station on-air employee conducting the individual occurrence of the Contest (the "Host") will commence each occurrence of the Contest with an on-air announcement on the Station. Such announcement shall include a telephone number that eligible individuals must call to enter the Contest. The ninth (9th) call received by the Station will be given an opportunity to participate in the Contest. If the ninth (9th) caller is determined by the Station to be ineligible, or the caller is unable or unwilling to participate in the Contest or if the telephone call is interrupted or disconnected prior to the reading of the first question as described herein, the next consecutive eligible caller will be given an opportunity to participate in the Contest.

Contestants listening to the Station via the internet stream (including via our mobile app) are advised that there is an inherent technical delay between the time that an announcement is spoken on the air and the time that the announcement is heard on the internet stream. The time to enter the contest by calling the telephone number announced by the Host starts with the on-air announcement. Therefore, persons listening through to the Station's internet stream may be at a disadvantage over those contestants listening over the air, in that they may not have time in which to respond to the on-air announcement before a Contestant is selected.

Contestants selected to participate in the Contest will be asked a series of ten (10) general trivia questions. Contestants will be given sixty (60) seconds to hear and answer all ten (10) questions. The sixty (60) second time period begins when the Host starts to read the first question. Contestant may choose to "pass" on any question (i.e., not answer the question and move on to the next question). After the tenth (10th) question has been asked, if any portion of the sixty (60) second time period remains, the Host will re-read any "passed" questions a second time, and the Contestant may answer such repeated questions, until the sixty (60) second time period expires. Contestants must answer all ten (10) questions correctly within the sixty (60) second time period to be declared a prize winner. If a contestant is unable to answer all 10 questions correctly within the 60 second time period, no prize will be awarded in the occurrence of the Contest. This exchange of questions and answers will be broadcast.

4. Questions used in the Contest will be selected in advance of the commencement of each occurrence of the Contest by the Host from a variety of reputable online sources and such questions and answers will be fact checked by at least one (1) additional Station staff member (the "Source Material"). The Host will select at least twenty (20) general trivia questions in advance of the commencement of each occurrence of the Contest and, from that group of questions, will randomly select the ten (10) questions used in that occurrence of the Contest as the Contest is conducted. The answers provided in the Source Material to each question shall be deemed the correct, final, and definitive answer to such question, regardless of any information from any other source. The decision of the Host as to the completeness of contestant answers shall be deemed final.

5. ODDS: Odds of winning depend on the number of potential participants.

6. PRIZES: Each prize awarded in the Contest is a check in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1000).

7. PRIZE AWARD: All prizes must be accepted as awarded. All prizes are non-transferable. All prize claims are subject to verification of the claimant's eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules. Each winner must provide station with a valid mailing address, a valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Contest winners must execute and return an IRS Form W-9 and an affidavit of eligibility and liability release, as well as any additionally required forms, and must provide a photocopy of a legal document showing California residence and a photocopy of a legal document showing the winner's social security number within ten (10) calendar days after receiving such forms or the prize will be forfeited. Failure to timely provide such information and/or any other reasonably required documentation including, without limitation, a release and affidavit of eligibility, may result in a delay in receiving prize or the forfeiture thereof. Entrants are required to provide truthful information and Station will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. Station will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet eligibility requirements. In the event a winning contestant is disqualified, no alternative winner shall be declared. All prizes will be delivered to winners via United States Mail service, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the Station and the prize winner. All prizes will be delivered within one hundred fifty (150) calendar days after the end of the Contest. No mailings to P.O. boxes. Mount Wilson is not responsible for any lost, stolen, misdirected or damaged mail. Prizes lost or damaged in mailing will not be replaced. Any person winning a prize in the Contest will receive an IRS Form 1099 at the end of the calendar year, and a copy of the 1099 will be filed with the IRS. Each winner shall be solely responsible for paying any and all applicable Federal, State, local or other taxes.

8. TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT: Participants are restricted to the use of ordinary telephone equipment. Participants that enable the "Caller ID" block function may not be allowed to participate unless they enter their correct area code and telephone number. To be declared a winner, the on-air Host must be able to hear and understand all answers given to the trivia questions. Participants are responsible for the quality of all telephone connections. Mount Wilson and the Station disclaim all liability for the inability of a participant to complete or continue a telephone call, or to have their responses heard by the Host, due to equipment malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnections, mis-dial or misdirected calls, garbled connections, poor quality signals, acts beyond the Station's control, or otherwise. Mount Wilson and the Station are not responsible for mechanical, technical, electronic, communications, telephone, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or failures of any kind, including: failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed transmission, traffic congestion on telephone lines, the Internet or at any website, or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit an online entrant's ability to participate in the Contest or to have their responses to any trivia question clearly understood by the Host.

9. RELEASES: By participating, all Participants and winner(s) grant the Station and Mount Wilson the permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices and likeness in connection with the promotion (via print, broadcast or other forms of media) of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, compensation or remuneration for such use. By calling the announced contest lines, voices and names may be recorded and used for promotional or broadcast purposes. Contest winners agree on their own behalf and on behalf of their heirs, successors, representatives and/or assigns, to fully and forever release and discharge the Station, Mount Wilson, and each and all of its subsidiary and affiliated corporations, companies and divisions, its predecessors, successors and assigns, and its directors, stockholders, officers, employees and agents, of and from any and all claims, demands, agreements, contracts, covenants, actions, suits, causes of action, obligations, controversies, debts, costs, expenses, accounts, damages, judgments, losses and liabilities of whatsoever kind or nature in law, equity or otherwise, whether known or unknown, whether or not concealed or hidden which against it or any of it, they have had, may have had or now have, or which any of their heirs, representatives and/or assigns hereafter can, shall or may have for or by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever, including but not in any respect limiting the generality of the foregoing, any and all claims which or might have asserted relating to this Contest, and agrees to deliver an executed release form at the time of delivery of any prize.

10. Mount Wilson reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or terminate the Contest in its entirety or partially should it become technically corrupted for any reason or because of non-authorized human intervention. Mount Wilson further reserves the right to terminate the Contest if in its sole judgment, the rules or the integrity of the Contest have been violated or compromised in any way, intentionally or unintentionally by any person whether or not an entrant in the Contest.
